My name is Sahara and crafting is important to me because it is a much-needed outlet, it realigns my view of the world and gives me a sense of relief and hope in uncertain times.
It is a source of many happy memories, I developed my passion for crafting at a young age. My Mom made many of our clothes, and blankets, she taught us how to sew. From that moment crafting has been a big part of who I am. Sharing this passion with my kids has been a blessing to me, watching their faces as I made their Halloween costumes, spending time teaching them, passing these experiences on, and letting them develop their passions, has been an amazing feeling that makes me proud, happy, and full of excitement.
Crafting has allowed me to share love with friends and family, making quilts or blankets for life-changing events, such as mommy/baby blankets or memory quilts for loved ones who lost someone important to them. It means a lot to me to share my creations, showing them I care and hopefully giving them a sense of comfort.
Being able to teach the art of crafting is a big part of who I am. It warms my heart to see someone creating something with their hands for the first time and see how excited and proud they are. Sharing these experiences and connecting my past, with the present and my future. To me, this is what it's about.
